Welcome to Sussex Search and Rescue

Sussex Search and Rescue (SusSAR) is the primary volunteer resource used by Sussex Police in the search and rescue of vulnerable missing people. We are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and are fully approved by Sussex Police policy. SusSAR is staffed purely by volunteers, who as well as covering the whole of East and West Sussex, can also be called out to assist other Search and Rescue groups throughout the UK.

SusSAR is a charity and relies solely on donations from businesses and individuals. If you can help, please visit our Support Us page.

Regrettably there are not any opportunities at present to join as an operational member. We will of course update this message when possible. If however you are able to help with our fundraising activities, please contact fundraising@sussar.org or write to us at; Sussex Search and Rescue, Shoreham Police Station, Ham Road, Shoreham-by-sea, BN43 6PA.

A SusSAR led Search and Rescue Operation in West Sussex formed the basis of an episode of the BBC TV show Missing: Live. Watch the reconstruction of this search on YouTube.
